The Traitors, TikTok and David Attenborough

Attended a literary soirée in Soho to celebrate the launch of Joe Wicks’ new book of PE-themed poetry. At dinner I was seated next to famed TV presenter, naturist and national treasure Sir David Attenborough. For an ardent animal rights activist, I was surprised to discover that he was neither vegan nor vegetarian – in fact, he ordered both the chicken and the lamb (“I like it both ways!” he chuckled as his double main course arrived). I told him that over the last year I had heard false rumours of his death several times, and every time I saw his name trending online I worried it might be true this time. He laughed, then leaned towards me conspiratorially. “Do you want to know a secret?” He asked. He then told me that the rumours were mostly started by him. “Why?” I asked. “Bit of a laugh,” he replied. “It’s fun to see everybody get in a flap.” Just yesterday I had seen his name trending again amid reports of a fire in his neighbourhood. “Who do you think started the …
